By Our Staff Reporter 2016-10-17
LAHORE: Temperatures have started dipping especially over the hills and winter is said to be a rain away there.

It may take some time before winter makes its presence felt in Punjab.

Night temperatures in the plains of the country too are dipping heralding the end of the summer. Maximum temperatures here are from 35 to 38 degrees C, keeping days warm but tolerable.

According to the Met department on Sunday, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Skardu which was 1 degree C. It was followed by Kalat 2, Hunza 6, Chitral 8, Dir 6, Quetta 5, Murree 12, Peshawar and Islamabad 17.

It was 18 degrees C in Lahore last night.

Wind was cool and the nip was felt by the motorcyclists.

The Met department said temperatures would further drop over the hills in the days to come. And they would gradually drop in the plains which would slowly embrace winter.

It will remain dry in the entire country in the next 24 hours (Monday), it forecast.
