LAKKI MARWAT: Former MPA Yasmeen Zia on Friday said Awami National Party activists would continue challenging terrorists and working for peace despite being targeted through terrorist activities.
`Bomb blasts are not a new thing for us. Our over 700 leaders, lawmakers and workers have laid down life over the last few years for peace on the soil of Pakhtuns instead of surrendering to militants.
We will continue doing so,` she said after inspecting the party office targeted by terrorists in Naurang town.
The former MPA said ANP workers would continue standing firm against terrorism and religious extremism.
She said her party was not against the government holding talks with the Taliban for peace but only wanted to see the process begin without delay.
Ms Yasmeen said a full-scale operation should be initiated against militants if the proposed talks bore no fruit.
She said the government had failed to protect public life and property.
`The ANP activists are on the hit list of terrorists but the provincial government is not ensuring protection of their life,` she said.
The former MPA said the government lacked courage to denounce terrorism and their acts.
She urged party workers to forge unity and play active role for bringing peace to the province.
