PESHAWAR: A bridegroom was found dead and the bride unconscious on their wedding night in Chughalpura area here on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the limits of Paharipura police station.

The bridegroom was identified as llyas Khan, son of Fazl llahi, resident of Chughalpura area. The bride was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital for treatment.

An official of the Paharipura police station told Dawn that police had started investigation on different aspects of the tragic incident.

While another police official, who visited the crime scene, said that the reason behind the killing seemed to be gas leakage.
