JI takes credit for uplift projects in Maidan

TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami MNA from Lower Dir Sahibzada Yaqub Khan on Sunday said political opponents should not resort to point scoring on development projects in Maidan area.

Addressing a party meeting at the residence of Malik Sar Zamin at Barkhani here, he claimed that all development projects in Maidan were completed by the JI lawmakers.

On the occasion, dozens of PPP and PTI activist s announce d to join the JI.

Mr Yaqub said people of Maidan never voted for any party other than JI since 1970 as it solved their problems on priority basis.

The MNA said that his opponents had no contribution to development of Maidan. He also announced to provide two 50KV power transformers to people of Barkhani village.

`The JI has a corruption-clear history as none of its lawmakers has ever misused public funds,` Mr Yaqub said, adding his party would not disappoint people in future too.

ANP YOUTH WING ELECTION: Aminur Rehman was elected as president and Sajjad Ahmad general secretary, respectively, of the Awami National Party`s Youth Wing, Samar Bagh chapter.

The elections were held at a meeting of the party workers at Rahimabad.

According to the results, Mohammad Ayub was elected vice-president, Nasir Jamshid deputy secretary, Najibullah joint secretary, Sardaraz finance secretary and Yasir Ali information secretary, respectively.
