Malakand to have labour court

MINGORA: Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel on Saturday said that judicial officers` strength in Malakand division would be increased while a labour court would also be set up to provide speedy justice to the inhabitants of the region.

He stated this while addressing the oathtaking ceremony of Peshawar High Court Bar Association, Mingora bench, here.

Mr Miankhel said that it was responsibility of judges and lawyers to struggle for provision of justice to people, adding that they had been struggling to ensure justice in the province.

He said that the concerned authorities would be informed about flaws in the Nizam-iAdle, 2009, and that steps would be taken to improve the judicial system in the area.

`Number of judicial officers in Malakand division will be increased accordingly,` he maintained. `We are intending to establish a labor court in Malakand division with the aim to provide speedy justice to needy people at their doorsteps.

Speaking on the occasion, president of PHCBA, Mingora chapter, Fazal Ghafoor said that there was no gap between bar and bench, adding that it was their joint responsibility to work for ensuring justice to people. He added that they would continue their struggle in provision of cheap and prompt justice to the litigants.

Earlier, Chief Justice Miankhel administered oath to the office bearers of PHCBA, Mingora bench, and also inaugurated a mosque and barracks for police and Frontier Constabulary on the court premises. Correspondent
