GUJRAT: The PML-Q senior leadership on Sunday held a meeting in connection with by-election in NA-108 (Mandi Bahauddin) and discussed strategy for party candidate Hamza Nasir Iqbal.

Party chief Shujaat Husain presided over the meeting while senior leader Pervaiz Elahi, MNA Tariq Bashir Cheema, former district nazim of Mandi Bahauddin Riaz Asghar Warraich, former lawmakers from Mandi Bahauddin Arif Gondal, Imtiaz Ranjha, formerministers RajaBasharat, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Hamza Nasir Iqbal and others were in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, Shujaat Husain said the PML-Q was very much aliveand active, those calling it dead better wake up from deep slumber as other political parties had been contacting his party.

He directed the party workers from Mandi Bahauddin to utilise all resources and work hard for the victory of Mr Iqbal.

Pervaiz Elahi was critical of the PML-N government.

`During my tenure, there was no crisis of electricity and gas, today people are fed up with inflation and the poor are committing suicides,` he said.

Hamza Nasir Iqbal expressed gratitude to Shujaat Husain and Pervaiz Elahi for reposing trust in him. He said PML-Q carried out numerous development work during its tenure. Correspondent
