KARACHI: The Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) Karachi on Tuesday staged a protest rally against the recent killings in Parachinar on sectarian grounds and in solidarity with a hunger strike being observed by party chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbass in Islamabad.
The protest rally taken out from Khurasan concluded at the Numaish intersection.
A token hunger strike camp of the MWM led by senior leader Maulana Baqir Zaidi was also set upoutside the Karachi Press Club.
Maulana Zaidi in his statement expressed solidarity with the participants in the hunger strike camp in Islamabad, where MWM central secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbass with Maulana Hasan Zafar, Maulana Ahmed Iqbal and others had been on hunger strike for the past five days.
Maulana Zaidi questioned the role of law enforcement agencies against terrorists.
