KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mehsud has inaugurated the first district level police access services (PAS) for speedy redressal of public complaints.

The PAS had been started in the office of police assistance lines which would be monitored by the regional police officers (RPOs), district police officers (DPOs) and the IGP himself.

Addressing a press conference here the other day, Mr Mehsud said that PAS had been instituted for effective system to redress people`s complaints as they would have direct access to the DPOs and RPOs. Itwould also spare the public from the hassle of visiting different offices to submit written applications.

He said that the benefit of the system was that the complaints would not be wasted, as each one would be directed to a verifiable databank.

Mr Mehsud stated that the RPOs and DPOs would be bound to respond to any complaint about a crime or social evil on the same day and the issue would be resolved at the earliest under the supervision of seniors.

For that matter, RPOs and DPOs would constantly stay in touch with the complainant, he added.
