KARACHI: Police on Monday resorted to baton charge and tear gas shelling to disperse students of Daud University of Engineering and Technology, who had blocked the new M.A.

Jinnah Road, according to officials. Some of the stu-dents were injured.

Over 100 students staged a sit-in outside the DUET in protest against the vice chancellor and it continued for hours, said Jamshed Town SP Akhtar Farooq.

Since many schools are located nearby, the sit-in caused immense inconvenience to parents and commuters.
