Attempt to kidnap PSP leader

By Our Staff Reporter 2016-10-18
KARACHl: Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP) vice chairman Ashfaq Mangi on Monday claimed that some `unknown armed men` attempted to kidnap him outside his Gulistani-Jauhar home but fled under the cover of fire when his brother put up a strong resistance.

Mr Mangi said his younger brother, Fayyaz, was injured in the scuffle with the suspects, according to the area police.

However, the police said they were investigating the incident to verify his claim as they were yet to find anyone injured in the incident or any traces of intense firing outside his home. The police investigators told Dawn that the probe was still under way though there was no independent witness to the incident and the case would be registered on a complaint of the PSP leader.
