DAWN`s Spelling Bee contest begins today

LAHORE: The two-day Multan pool rounds of the 12th DAWN in Education Spelling Bee Competition will begin on Tuesday (today) at the Multan Arts Council auditorium.

It is the largest school event in Pakistan organised under the DAWN in Education Programme.

This year at least 1,000 of the most competitive schools from across the country will be participating in this engaging competition.

Over 200 students from 50 schools across different cities of the southern Punjab which include Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Layyah, Mailsi, Chiniot, Chishtian, Fazilpur, Hasilpur, Kot Addu and Liaquatpur,are participatingin the contest.

The competition will be conducted in three age groups 9-11 years, 1214 years and 15-16 years. Three students from each group will qualify to participating in the Lahore regional championship which will be held on Nov 5 in Lahore.

The competition is being organised by The DAWN Media Group and the judges are provided by the Oxford University Press.
