LAHORE: PML-N`s Javed Iqbal won by-polls for union council (UC) No 231 chairman on Thursday.

Polling for four wards of different union councils was also held where two seats went to the PML-N, and one eachtothePPPandanindependent candidate.

Polling for these seats could not be held in the first phase on October 31 because of misprinting of election symbols and/or names of candidates.KASUR: PMLN`s Muhammad Nasir Ghori carried the day in ward No 12 of Maan Singh in Kot Radha Kishan. In Mandi Usmanwala, Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) won the by-poll in UC Daokay Kalan.

PTI`s Muhammad Tanzeem Randhava also won the poll for Kanveen Jhoonk UC.

GUJRAT: Independents won in elections for nine wards of three urban and five rural UCs.According to an unofficial result, in UC 18 Lakhanwala`s ward 1 Zubair Ahmed won, in ward 5 PMLQ`s Muhammad Sarwar carried the day.

In urban UC 2 Mehmda ward 4, Zulfiqar Ahmed of the PML N, in UC 3 Muslim Abad`s ward 5 Chaudhry Abid Hussain of the PML N, and in UC 5 Kalara Kalan`s ward 5 independent Rashid Mehmood won the polls.

In UC-63 Warraichanawala`s ward 5 Bilal Shaukat (independent) was declared winner, and in UC Kakrali`s ward 5 Muhammad Aslam of PTI won the day. In UC 107 Peer Khana`s ward 4, independent Abdul Qayyum, while in UC 108 Besa`s ward 4, PTI`s Al(bar Ali won the polls.

MULTAN: PML-N candidates stood victorious in three UCs of Multan. In UC-104, PML-N candidate won elections for the chairman slot, while PPP`s Khalid Husain was elected councillor.

OKARA: In ward No 17 in Okara city, independent candidate Haji Muhammad Shahid won the election.

In UC-80, PML-N`s Fakhar Hayat Bodla and UC No 115 Basirpur, PML-N`s Khalid Rauf Khan were elected.
