Man kills wife, two daughters in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A dejected man killed his two daughters and wife over a domestic dispute in Gharibabad area of the provincial capital on Monday. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Pahari Pura police station.

Umar Gul, who came from Dubai two years back, was living in a rented house in Ghariabad locality.

He shot dead his two daughters identified as Rabia (14) and Laiba (12) and wife, Shamshada Bibi, at his house after reportedly getting fed-up with domestic disputes, police quoted local residents as saying.

The accused managed to escape after committing the crime.

Police said they took the bodies into custody, and recorded statements of the neighbours about the incident.

A police official told media persons that initial investigation revealed that Umar Gul took lives of his daughters and wife after getting depressed due to poverty.

Another police official said that Umar Gul belonged to Thal area of Hangu, and had been residing in a rented compartment in the provincial capital for the last four years.

Currently, he was performing job as a security guard.
