Lawyer shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Unknown motorcyclists gunned down a lawyer in the limits of the University Town police station here on Wednesday.

A relevant police official identified the slain as Kundal Khan, a lawyer belonging to Safed Dheri village, who was targeted near Khyber Teaching Hospital.

The official said Khan was purchasing medicines from the market when he was attacked.

The police official said that the slain person’s family had a feud as his relatives had nominated three people identified as Ihsanullah, Ziafat ad Atif in the FIR.

Meanwhile, the city police on Wednesday arrested a local for sexually abusing a teenaged boy in the limits of the Paharipura police station.

ASP Faqirbad Waseem Riaz identified the accused as Adil, a resident of Nasirpur village, who sexually abused an 11-year-old boy from Yousaf Abad locality.

Mr Riaz said the victim and the accused worked at a workshop, adding police had arrested the accused and registered FIR against him under section 377 of the Pakistan Panel Code.

He said medical report of the victim was awaited.—Bureau Report
