ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday reserved its order on a petition seeking the repatriation of a Pakistani man from Guantanamo Bay.

Through his counsel, Mohammad Shafi informed the court that his brother-in-law Mohammad Ahmed Ghulam Rabbani was picked by Pakistani intelligence officials and handed over to the US without any charges or the right to defend himself.

The petitioner requested the court to order the respondents the ministries of interior, defence and foreign affairs to make immediate arrangements to repatriate his relative. He said Rabbani went missing only one month af ter his marriage in 2001.

After five years, the family was informed that he was under the custody of the Americans.

According to the petition, Rabbani was picked in December 2001 and locked in an illegal detention centre in Karachi.

In January 2002, he was flown to Islamabad and handed over to US intelligence officials. Malik Asad
