DERA MURAD JAMALI: A soldier of the Frontier Corps lost his life in a gunbattle with armed men in the Mir Pur area located on the border of Nasirabad and Jhal Magsi districts on Saturday.

Official sources said that after receiving a tip-off about the presence of armed men, FC personnel launched a search operation in the Mir Pur area. When the personnel entered the area some people opened fire on them, leaving one FC soldier dead.

The FC personnel returned fire and an exchange of fire continued for some time. It ended with the arrest of seven suspects.

The personnel seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the possession of the arrested men.
