Water supply schemes for Karak villages approved

KARAK: Adviser to the chief minister on prisons, Malik Qasim Khan Khattak, has approved three water supply schemes and a road for Sorati Kallay and adjacent localities.

Addressing party workers in his hometown here on Sunday, the lawmaker said that the water supply schemes would cost Rs10.2 million and the road would be completed with Rs5 million to connect the area with Karak city.

Mr Khattak said that he had also initiated work on a water supply scheme f rom L awagher Dam on gravity line and claimed that the project would provide drinking water to majority of areas of his constituency.

He said that with the completion of Koh-iMaidan road the people of far away areas were now linked with the city. It would also provide an easy access to the coal mines and other minerals located in Kurd Sharif, Showanki and Koh-i-Maidan areas.

The lawmaker said that the second phase of Karak-Darratang road would be completed in the stipulated time.

He claimed that it would prove a mini-economic corridor for the people of Karak as business activities would take a boost with its completion. ] He asked the people to create environment conducive to the oil and gas exploration by the companies in the district.
