Charred body points to dispute

SAHIWAL: The Ghala Mandi police on Wednesday found the charred body of a young man at the LahoreKarachi railway track towards Qadirabad side on Tues day night.

The victim was identified as Allah Ditta, 35, who was a resident of Vehari`s Gago Mandi.

His brother-in-law Zaheer told Dawn that Allah Ditta had a dispute with Rana Ijaz and Bilal Shah of Phoolnagar, where he had gone three days ago to settle the Rs2.6 million dispute.

The Ghala Mandi SHO told Dawn that the postmortem report confirmed that the victim was burnt alive.

Iqbal, the younger brother of the deceased, confirmed that Allah Ditta had given Rs2.6 million to Rana Bilal for the jobs of some people of Gago Mandi.

But Rana Bilal and Bilal Shah neither gave them jobs nor did they return money.

The SHO said police found the body when some passersby informed them about it. They found a burnt mobile phone in the pocket of the deceased. Police registere d a case after handing over the body to his brother.
