Three held with imported liquor

SAHIWAL: The Pakpattan police recovered 1211mported bottles of liquor near Pir Sultan graveyard on Sunday.

SHO Rana Nadeem Iqbal said police intercepted a car coming from Lahore after receiving information and recovered imported liquor from it.

The SHO said that driver Waheed, of Depalpur, told police that he was regularly supplying liquor to different localities in Pakpattan. He said police arrested driver`s two other accomplices Ghulam Ali and Ali Raza from Pir Waheed Kot and also registered a case against them.

Separately, police seized 41 liters of liquor and two pistols during raids on different localities here on Sunday.

Police arrested accused Allah Rakha from Abpara Town, Asif Ali from Pakpattan Chowk and Qasir from Aurangabad and recovered 20, 10 and 11 litres of liquor, respectively, from their custody.

Police also arrested Nadeem from Bhutto Nagar and Daniyal from 90/9-L and recovered two pistols and a large quantity of ammunition.
