LAHORE: Old guard Haji Azizur Rehman Chan has been nominated as the PPP Lahore city president, says a notification issued from the Bilawal House.

Israrul Haq Butt was made general secretary of the body.

A party worker since Zulfikar Ali Bhutto era, Mr Chan has earlier served in the same capacity in 2004-08 and later as the PPP Punjab general secretary in 2012.

Mr Butt is the only union council chairman of the PPP in the provincial capital and a brother of slain party activists Babar Suhail Butt. Staff Reporter
