HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples PartyParliamentarians (PPP-P) information secretary Maula Bux Chandio on Monday said that [dispensing] justice would restore sanctity of the judiciary. Referring to the written speech delivered by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after appearing before the joint investigation team (JIT) formed by the apex court on Thursday, Mr Chandio wondered why Mr Sharif was complaining about `puppet masters` considering the fact that he [the PM] owed his politics to them.

`For the first time he finds the country`s integrity at stake, after the formation of the JIT,` he said.

Mr Chandio was speaking to reporters at an Iftar dinner at the residence of PPP district president Saghir Qureshi.

He said the PM should clarify as to who was working on some particular agenda. Had there been anyone else in place of [PML-N Senator] Nehal Hashmi from Punjab, he would not have been punished, said Mr Chandio, adding that [Punjab Law Minister] Rana Sanaullah`s vitriolic were well-known but he never faced any punishment.

The PPP-P leader said that nationalisation was policy of Z.A. Bhutto but he never victimised anyone. He said that many industrial units and banks were nationalised.

He said that Nawaz Sharif`s political mentors had returned him everything with a `mark up`.

He said that Sharifs had victimised Benazir Bhutto and not vice versa.
