TAXILA: An under trial prisoner (UTP) wanted in a murder case fled from the judicial complex, Taxila on Wednesday.

Police sources said that the suspect was brought to the court of additional district and session judge in connection with hearing.

He was waiting outside the court room for his turn when he got a chance to jump from the second floor of the court complex and fled with handcuffs on.

Even the Police guards, deployed at the entrance of the court complex, were caught off guard. The accused was arrested by Taxila police in November 2016 for being involved in a murder of a local trader, Haris Muneer, who was his childhood friend.

The Taxila police have registered a case against the policemen who were escorting him.-Correspondent
