KARAK: The students of Working Folks Grammar School College, Karak, on Tuesday blocked the Indus Highway at Jail Chowk here to protest against non-availability of transport facility for them.

The protesting students said that due to absence of bus facility, they failed to reach school on time.

The students said that earlier a private transport company had provided them transportation facility but due to nonpayment of dues, the company withdrew the facility.

The students said that as their parents were poor workers, they could not afford availing private transport to reach school.

Due to the protest, long queues of vehicles were formed on both sides of the road, and passengers faced hardships in scorching heat.

Meanwhile, Karak assistant commissioner Ataul Munem reached the spot and assured the students that their genuine demands would be addressed, after which the students dispersed peacefully.-Correspondent
