Preventive steps urged against dengue

SWABI: There is an intense need for running a concerted campaign across the district to educate people on dengue fever and ways to prevent the disease.

This was stated by speakers at the conclusion of a walk, organised by the tehsil municipal administration officials and workers here on Friday. Chief municipal officer Mohammad Shafi led the walk which after passing through SwabiJehangira, Swabi-Topi and Swabi-Mardan roads ended at the TMA office where its officials addressed the workers.

They were holding banners inscribed with various steps which should be taken by the people to prevent the outbreak of dengue fever in the district.

Mr Shafi and other speakers said that they had taken steps for creating awareness among people of dengue fever and precautionary measures.

`I hope that the people of the district would come forward to take the required steps and help the government in keeping the district free from dengue fever,` he said.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz activists said that the government should ensure antimosquitoes spray in the district.

They said that it was the time that along with educating people the spray should be initiated by TMAs in their respective regions.

BODY FOUND: Body of a man was found in Zaida mountains here on Friday.

The mother of the victim, Mohammad Yaseen, has nominated three suspects in the case. They include Naveed Khan, Safdar Khan and Hamayun.

The police registered an FIR the suspects and have started investigations.
