Lawyers help two escape arrest

2016-10-20
LAHORE: A group of lawyers, including two office-bearers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, on Wednesday helped two murder suspects escape arrest after dismissal of their pre-arrest bail plea.

The lawyers not only rescued their clients/suspects from the arrest but also manhandled the cops. The bail petitions of Fayaz and Shehram were heard and dismissed by Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi. They were nominated accused in the murder case of Changez Khan in Mianwali.

LHCBA Vice President Sardar Shahbaz, Finance Secretary Asad Bokhari and Advocate Allah Bakhsh Shakeel were on the forefront to restrict police personnel from arresting the suspects.

The advocates took their clients to the committee room of the bar and managed a safe escape for them after sometime.

The bar leaders, when asked by media, said there was a directive issued by the high court in 2014 restraining police and other law-enforcement agencies from arresting the accused on the court premises. — Staff Reporter
