Inflated bills, helpless consumers

S H E I K H U PU R A: Power consumers protested against the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) officials outside the District Media Forum office on Wednesday.

Their representative, Chaudhry Shafiq, said despite 12 hours and 18 hours outages in urban and rural areas, their bills were fat. He said the staff would reverse units after taking bribe from consumers but would issue them accumulative detection bills afterwards to cover line losses.

He demanded that theLesco authorities hold an inquiry into the issue and take action against the officials.

ROBBERY: Two gunmen took away a motorcycle, cash and a mobile phone from Asghar Ali near Naisheman Park.

On putting resistance, Asghar was beaten up by the gunmen.

Asghar alleged when he approached the Housing Colony police for a case, he was not heard.

Citizens Welfare Society Chairman Mian Shahid demanded that the police officials take action against the Housing Colony police station.
