MIRAMSHAH: The National Institute of Health, Islamabad confirmed two new polio cases in Miramshah tehsil of North Waziristan Agency on Thursday.

North Waziristan has recorded 27 cases of polio, the highest number of cases reported from any area of the country.

Sources said that ZulfiqarKhan, an 11-month-old child of Nek Nawaz, a resident of village Khair Kala in North Waziristan Agency was tested positive for polio. He didn`t receive any dose of the oral polio vaccine, they added.

Sources said that Rabia Bibi, one-year-old daughter of Noor Jahan Shah, a resident of village Ahmedkhel in North Waziristan Agency was also tested positive for poliomyelitis.
