LAKKI MARWAT: The district education department has released Rs40 million conditional grant to the parent-teacher councils (PTCs) of boys primary schools for construction of classrooms, boundary walls, latrines and providing other basic facilities.

This was stated by sub-divisional education officer (SDEO) Ikramullah Khan while addressing a meeting here on Friday. Among others primary school head teachers were in attendance.

Mr Ikram said the government had authorised PTCs to execute civil works, including construction of classrooms and boundary walls, and make available facilities like drinking water, latrines and others at their respective schools.

He asked the head teachers to ensure transparent utilisation of funds as it would earn a good name for them in society. He said that releasing such a huge amount to PTCs showed government`s trust in head teachers, therefore, they should not shake the trust and spend the money transparently.
