SUKKUR: Sukkur police on Monday claimed to have arrested seven militants in raids on various hotels in the city. The suspects belonged to a proscribed organisation, they said.

The police said that the joint raids were conducted by the district police and special branch personnel.

“The militants/clerics were collecting donations for jihad (holy war) and were staying in various hotels in the city,” they said.An FIR was registered against the suspects, most of them hailing from Punjab.
