Patient files suit against clinic

RAWALPINDI: A patient has filed a suit of Rs50 million against a clinic seeking compensation for wrong diagnosis of his disease.

Malik Saleem Akhter, a resident of Rawalpindi, in his petition with the District Consumer Protection Council, said he went to the private clinic of Dr Shoaib Shafi on October 8, 2014 where doctors aske d him to bring pathological tests and gave him two injections.

However, he said the injection had an adverse reaction and his body started bloating. When he went back to the doctor he administered more injections.He said he complained again about the reaction of the injections on November 11, 2014 but the doctor administered two more injections and af ter which he fainted in the clinic.

Upon this, he said he was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital for treatment and remained there for 20 days.

He said that his condition has not improved.

When contacted, District Consumer Protection Council focal person Idrees Randhawa said the patient`s condition was not well and that he came to District Consumer Protection Council for help. A Reporter
