Work on Oghi campus of Hazara varsity to start soon

MANSEHRA: The technical team of Hazara University has recommended two sites in Oghi for construction of its campus. The government has already approved Rs550 million for the project.

The team, which was led by director works Saleem Raza, inspected two sites in Butti and Bandi Sadiq area in Oghi. According to the technical team, both the sites are feasible for construction of the campus and now it is up to the Higher Education Commission to finalise one of the two sites for the project.

MNA Mohammad Safdar had earmarked Rs550 million from his annual funds for the project after people of Oghi demanded that a campus of Hazara University be set up in their area. Sources said that in the meanwhile the administrationwas also going to start classes at a rented building.

A committee of local people has already been formed to oversee the affairs of the HU campus project.

One of its members Taj Mohammad Tanoli told mediapersons in Oghi that work on the project would be started soon. `When this campus would start functioning the local students would be able to get higher education on their doorstep,` he said.

Mr Tanoli said that both the places inspected by the technical team were easily accessible to the students and HEC should complete its legal formalities promptly so that construction work of the campus could be started.

Meanwhile, KP higher education department secretary Dr Attaur Rehman visited the university where the vice-chancellor briefed him about different projectsand educational activities.

Sources said that Adil Shah was visiting the house of his sister, but allegedly exchanged harsh words with his brother-in-law Abbas Shah and later shot him dead.
