KARACHI: In the 69th election of the Karachi Bar Association, Mahmood-ulHasan has been elected president and Haq Nawaz Talpur general secretary for the year 2016.
The polling was held on the premises of the city courts on Saturday as KBA members voted to elect their 17-member body six office-bearers and 11 managing committee members.
The contest for the top slot was between Mr Hasan and Naeem Qureshi.
Shujat Ali Khan was elected vice president, Mumtaz Ali Shah finance secretary, Rizwan Saeed joint secretary and Afsar Ali librarian.
District and sessions judge Imdad Hussain Khoso volunteered as chief election commissioner and 20 other judges acted as presiding officers.
Malir Bar election In the Malir Bar polls, Ijaz Khan Bangash was elected president and Rao Zahid general secretary.
