GUJRAT: Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani says the court verdict declaring him disqualified and security threats to senior PPP leaders stopped his party from running the 2013 election campaign.

The agreement between the PML-N and the PTI on formation of the judicial commission to probe the rigging allegations is a welcome move as it will pave way for re-entry of the PTI in parliament, he told reporters at the Pagganwala House and then at the wedding of the daughter of PTI`s Saleem Sarwar Jaura.

Gilani said his party would stage a comeback and was ready to participate in the local polls.
