KASUR: Police and other law-enforcement agencies claimed on Tuesday to have arrested 33 suspects, 17 of them belonging to Bajaur Agency, during an operation as part of the National Action Plan.

Police also recovere d illegal weapons and narcotics in bulk.

According to District Police Officer Ali Nasir Rizvi, a search operation was conducted in Railway Road, Adda Lalyani, Karishna Nagar, Rara Gujran, Kot Radha Kishan, Kanganpur and Phoolnagar areas. He said LEAs took into custody 33 suspects. He said 17 of them hailed from Bajaur Agency. Police recovered illegal weapons, liquor and narcotics.

The DPO said the LEAs searched 310 houses and 70 shops.

ACCIDENT: A woman was run over and killed by a tractor-trolley while her son suffered injuries here on Tuesday near Sattoki village in Mustafabad police precincts.

Muhammad Boota along with his mother Safia Bibi, 60, was on his way home by a motorcycle when a tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction hit the two-wheeler.

Safia succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Police are looking into the matter.
