Magsi graft case adjourned to 30th

QUETTA: An accountability court on Tuesday ordered that witnesses be produced and evidence be presented in the court at the next hearing of the Ashraf Magsi corruption case.

Magsi, the former chairman ofthe Balochistan Public Service Commission, and two directors are facing charges of corruption, irregularities and illegal recruitments against the posts of grade17 officers and above.

The former chairman and directors Wahidur Rehman and Niaz Kakar were produced before the accountability court byNational Accountability Bureau (NAB) of ficials on Tuesday.

Judge Abdul Majeed Nasar heard the case and ordered that witnesses and evidence should be brought in or submitted by the next hearing which was scheduled for June 30.

Magsi was removed from his post by the governor of Balochis-tan after an inquiry found that he was involved in illegal recruitment and financial corruption.

He was charged with recruiting two of his daughters for the post of grade-17 officers in the provincial education department with fake degrees. He was also accused of re cruiting a relative for a grade17 post.
