MULTAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested two suspected terrorists and seized weapons from their possession.
A spokesman said a CTD team received information that two terrorists belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent were present in Al-Mansoor Garden area near Awan Chowk and were planning to attack law enforcement officials as well as sensitive installations in the city.
The team conducted a raid at the location and arrested the suspects. They also seized four hand grenades, four detonators, a pistol and Rs2,650 in cash.
A case was registered at CTD Multan police station and investigations started.—Staff Correspondent
