More food outlets sealed

ISLAMABAD: Six food outlets were sealed on Monday for serving substandard and unhygienic food.

CDA spokesperson Ramzan Sajid said the authority’s health services directorate sealed six outlets.

He said Lahore Restaurant, Chaat Palace and Lahori Samosa Pakora at Peshawar Mor were sealed, as were Irum Restaurant in G-9 and Bari Bari Restaurant and Ravi Restaurant at Aabpara.

In addition to substandard food, the premises’ sanitary conditions and the employees’ health status were not up to the mark. The CDA has lodged FIRs against the outlets’ owners.

CDA director health Dr Hassan Urooj told Dawn that the ongoing operations would continue.

“We have been conducting raids continuously to discourage food outlets from operating in unhygienic conditions and providing substandard food,” Urooj said.

Meanwhile, Islamabad district administration also conducted several raids in F-7 sector.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Sattar Isani, the raiding team sealed Zefra Restaurant for not ensuring food quality and maintaining cleanliness. He further said the kitchen of Café Lazeez and store of Pizza Hut were also sealed.— A Reporter
