PM calls on governor in hospital

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the South City Hospital to inquire after the health of ailing Governor of Sindh retired Justice Saeed-uzZaman Siddiqui, officials at Governor House said.

`The prime minister inquired after the health of the Sindh governor and was pleased to see him improving,` said a governor house spokesman.

`He prayed for the full recovery of the governor.

During the PM`s brief stay at the hospital he discussed matters of mutual interest with the governor.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was accompanying him.

The governor expressed his gratitude over the arrival of the prime minister at the hospital.

Chief minister receives PM Earlier, the Sindh chief minister said the International Defence Exhibition IDE AS 2016 in Karachi was manifestation of confidence of national and international organisation in the city.

He said this while speaking toPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif after receiving him at the Karachi airport, his spokesman said.

He said people of Karachi faced long years of worst law and order situation and terrorist attacks in the city.

`With collective wisdom of political leadership and the armed forces, unflinching public support and political will of the PPP government in Sindh, a vigorous intelligence-based targeted operation was launched against outlaws and terrorists,` he said.

Mr Shah said the operation had improved the situation.

Mr Shah said garbage lifting in modern style would start by the end of December as a Chinese company had been awarded a contract.

The chief minister said K-IV bulk water supply scheme had been launched and hopefully it would start providing water to the city. `I am planning to make another water supply arrangement to cater to the needs of industrial sector,` he said.

Earlier, Mr Shah received the prime minister and accompanied him to the Defence Exhibition organised at the Expo Centre. He met there Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
