Whereabouts of six kidnapped political workers still unknown

QUETTA: Security forces have failed to trace six workers of two political parties who were kidnapped in Dashat area of Turbat by two armed groupsfourdays ago.

Two workers of the ruling National Party and four of the Balochistan National Party-Awami were kidnapped during the by-election campaign fortheir candidatesfor the provincial assembly seat PB-50, Turbat.

The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court ordered re-pollingon the seat.

A former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly and provincial president of the ruling National Party Muhammad Akram Dashati, former senator and provincial minister for food Mir Muhammad Ali Rind of BNP-Awami and Akbar Asl(ani of PML-N and three independent candidates are in the run for the seat.

Official sources said that security forces were conducting search operations in different areas to recover the kidnapped workers of the two parties.

They have taken some suspects into custody.
