Marwat tribe to help police maintain peace in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: The elders of Marwat tribe and local police agreed on Monday to launch concerted ef forts to eliminate anti-social elements in the district.
The consensus was reached at a meeting held at the police lines in Tajazai. District police chief Hasan Iqbal chaired the meet.
The meeting appreciated the role of Marwat elders for helping to maintain peace in the region.
DPO Hasan Iqbal said the Marwat elders always cooperated with police and other law enforcement agencies to act against anti-social elements.`The law and order situation in the district is better than other areas and credit for this goes to the elders of Marwat tribe,` he said.
The police officer underlined the need for close liaison between the the people and police to make result-oriented the actions of law enforcement agencies against miscreants and criminals.
International Day for Biological Diversity The wildlife department held a function in crane conservation centre on Monday in connection with theInternational Day for Biological Diversity.
Divisional forest officer wildlife Khan Malook Khan was the chief guest, while teachers, students, conservationists and members of schools` nature clubs were in attendance.
Students delivered speeches on the importance of biodiversity and termed it the foundation for life.
They said the day was marked globally to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of biodiversity. `By maintaining biodiversity we can sustain our livelihoods,` they said.Correspondent
