Committee to select FBISE secretary today

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training will select the secretary Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Friday.

A search committee, headed by State Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Engineer Balighur Rehman, will conduct interviews of four shortlisted candidates.

A source at the ministry told Dawn that 30 candidates had applied for the post which had been lying vacant for the last several months. Of them, four have been called for the interviews.

The shortlisted candidatesincluded: Mohammad Sarwar, (a FBISE of ficer), Asghar Gondal, deputy secretary cabinet, and Mohammad Iqbal, section officer, ministry of federal education.

Meanwhile, a search committee of the HEC, which is tasked to select the vice chancellor of the University of Poonch, Rawalakot, has completed interviews of 19 shortlisted candidates.

`We have completed the interview process. Three names have been finalised which will be sent to the university senate,` said HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, who also headed the committee.

He said the university senate would forward the names to the president of AJK who is also the chancellor of the university, for the selection of one of them.
