UTHAL tehsil is the district headquarters of Lasbela district in Balochistan. It consists of five union councils which are Wayaro, Kehnwari, Lakhra, Lyari and Sheh. Uthal city is also a municipal committee itself. All districts officers sit here, including, DCO, DPO, DE O, DH A, Revenue Officer, ADLG, and Agriculture Officer.

The district`s chairman also belongs to this city. Unfortunately, this city has still no government intermediate college. Every year 200 to 300 students pass their high school examinations and most of them say goodbye to further education.

There is only one private intermediate college whose fee and other charges are beyond the reach of all students. The authoriies, as well as the district management, should provide separate intermediate college for boys and girls.
