BAHAWALPUR: Fifteen students were injured when their school van met with an accident near Dunyapur about 60 kilometres off here on Friday.

The van carrying girls to school overturned near 345-Pulli as a result of which 15 of them were injured. They were taken to the Basic Health Unit, where 12 girls were discharged after first aid and four admitted for treatment.

Police quoted the van driver as having claimed that the van overturned owing to tie-rod dislocation.POISONED FOOD: A woman was hospitalised after her family allegedly administered her poison on Friday for marrying a man of her own free will.

Nasreen Bibi contracted marriage with Mushtaq against the wishes of her family.

They expressed their resentment over the woman`s decision but after some time brought her back on the pretext of properly arranging her wedding function. Nasreen came to see her family who allegedly served her poisonous food. The woman fell sick and as her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.

Police registered a case against members of Nasreen`s family.
