LAKKI MARWAT: The elementary and secondary education department has issued show cause notices to 49 employees of primary schools in the district for remaining absent from duty.

An official said that the employees, who had been issued notices, included 15 head teachers, three senior primary schoolteachers, 10 primary schoolteachers and 21 watchmen.

He said that the habitual truant employees and those using substitutes had been directed to explain their position otherwise the department would initiate disciplinary proceedings against them.

The official said that SDEO Ikramullah Khan directed assistant district officers to submit reports about partially occupied schools in their respective circles so that action could be initiated in that regard.

ARRESTED: Police claimed to have solved the mystery of the murder of a school student and arrested an alleged killer in Naurang town.DPO Ismail Kharak told a press conference here on Wednesday, that an eight grade student Sanaullah was killed on Sept 19 in Naurang town when a man opened firing on a rickshaw.

He said that Shakirullah, a friend of the deceased student, was injured in the incident.

The official said that police took the murder case as a challenge and started efforts to trace the culprit, who had escaped from the scene. `During preliminary investigation, police learnt that a man Parvez alias Jarnail had attempted several times to convince the killed student to befriend with him,` he added.

The DPO said that Parvez killed Sanaullah when he rejected his offer of `forced friendship`. He said that the mother of the deceased had repeatedly asked Parvez to stay away from her son but to no avail.

Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested seven persons, who were wanted in a murder case. `On Aug 5, seven armed men had entered a house in Kotka Mir Qalamkhel and killed Gul Aslam,` said an official.

He said that the killers had escaped but police made efforts to bring them to justice. He said that it was challenging task for police to arrest all the men involved in the case.

The official said that the arrested persons included Inayatullah, Mohammad Daraz, Momeen Khan, Karim Khan, Sarfraz, Hidayatullah and Gul Daraz. Correspondent
