Three killed in Kurram landmine blasts

PARACHINAR, Nov 24: Three persons were killed in two separate landmine explosions in Kurram Agency on Sunday, sources said.
In the first incident, two students, going from Zungi to Parachinar, were killed when their car was hit by an anti-tank mine that was planted on a dirt road near Zungi village.
The students identified as SyedYaseen Shah and Syed Mohammad Taqi were killed on the spot, residents of the area said. The car was also damaged completely in the blast, they said, adding that both the deceased were studying in grade 8.
The second explosion took place in Dall village where an anti-personnel mine was plante d on a dirt track, officials said. They added that the mine explodedwhen a villager identified as Sarfraz Hussain stepped on it. Wasi Shah, a sixyear-old boy, who was accompanying Sarfraz, suffered injuries in the blast.
Sarfraz was killed on the spot while Wasi was shifted to agency headquarters hospital. Doctors said that Wasi was in stable condition. Political administration registered cases and started investigation.
