GB officers promoted

GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan promotion board has upgraded 14 officers, including eight police officials of SP rank.

According to a handout issued here on Tuesday, the decision was taken at a meeting of the board, chaired by chief secretary Sikandar Sultan Raja.

According to the decision, Abdul Hameed (BS-19), duty director to the chief minister`s inspection team, has been promoted to BS-20.

Similarly, two officers of GB district management services, Zafar Waqar Taj and Sibtain Ahmed (BS-19), have been upgraded to BS-20. A works department officer, Mohammad Younis (BS-18), was upgraded to BS-19. The promotion board also upgraded eight police officers of SP rank from BS-17 to BS-18. They included Farman Ali, Hanifullah, Mohammad Tufail, Tanveerul Hasan, Mirza Hasan, Mohammad Ishaq, Sultan Faisal, and Abdul Raheem.

According to the handout, the chief secretary has directed the promotion board to meet every month to evaluate performance of government officials and consider them for promotions.
