Two pedestrians killed in hit-and-run

ISLAMABAD: Two people were killed in a hit-and-run, and four separate incidents of robberies took place, police said on Thursday.

Two people suffered multiple injuries after they were hit by an unidentified vehicle in F-7 while crossing a road, police said. The driver drove off after the incident.

The victims were shifted to a hospital where they were identified as Shiraz Ahmed and Mohammad Masood, and pronounced dead.

Separately, four separate incidents of robbery occurred, police said. In the first, thieves robbed the home of Erum Saeed in F-8/3 and stole foreign currency, gold ornaments and valuables.

The victim, in a complaint lodged with the police, claimed her domestic employee was involved in the theft.

In another incident, the home of Chaudhry Nadeem Akhter in F-7/1 was robbed of foreign currency, gold ornaments and valuables.

Police said the victim claimed in his complaint that his domestic employee was behind the theft.

Two armed individuals intercepted Noreen Akhter in H-8 and stole valuables, including her mobile phone, at gunpoint before escaping on a motorcycle.

A shop belonging to Mohammad Javaid Iqbal, located in Pakistan Town, was robbed of mobile phones and laptop computers wohh thousands of rupees, police said.
