TAXILA: The ongoing rain has added to the miseries of the residents of Riasatabad locality in Wah Cantonment as work on the laying of sewage lines has been progressing at a snail`s pace due to the apathy of the Cantonment Board Wah (CBW) officials.

The residents told this correspondent that the rainwater accumulated in the streets dug up for laying the lines, creating hardship for them.

They said the CBW authorities had initiated the work but did not complete it on time.

The residents called upon the board authorities to take notice of the situation and complete the work without any funher delay.

They said as the streets remained dug up, they were filled with rainwater making it difficult for the residents to move in and out of their houses. Kaleem Khan, a resident of the area, said after digging out the streets for laying the sewage lines the civic body left the project incomplete.-Correspondent
