FAISALABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has asked the nation to pray for the success of peace talks being held between a government committee and the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
Addressing the 40th anniversary of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday, he said that since the use of force was not a solution to any problem, the government had opted for dialogue.
He said corruption was deep-rooted in every segment of society and people should play their role in checking this menace.
China, he said, would set up three nuclear power sta-tions in Pakistan which would start production within two-and-a-half years. Work on the Dasu Dam had also been started.
The president asked businessmen to explore markets in African countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Congo and South Africa. He said he would visit Nigeria next month and exporters could join him.
About trade with India, he said initially the businessmen would face problems but these would be resolved gradually.
Responding to a demand by chamber president Sohail Bin Rasheed about the setting up of an 11university in Faisalabad and upgradation of the city airport, Mr Hussain said that private sector should come forward for such projects.
