ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police arrested nine Afghan nationals for allegedly staying in the country illegally.

Besides, six outlaws were taken into custody from different parts of the city, a police spokesman said.

He said special checking was conducted in various parts of the city during which the Khanna police rounded up an alleged drug peddler from Bilal Town and recovered 1.1kg hashish from him.

The Shehzad Town police nabbed two people after recovering a 30-bore pistol from each of them while the Kohsar police nabbed a man along with a 30-bore pistol.

The Koral police arrested two persons for illegally selling petroleum products.

Separate cases have been registered against the arrested people.
